Dryden on the Year of Wonders

It's been a while since I've written about poet John Dryden, who this town is named for, but an alert reader pointed me to this show on Dryden's response to the wild events of the year 1666. (It requires RealPlayer, which you may need to install to hear the show.)

This is one of John Dryden's best known poems.
For a number of years in the 1960's, the Dryden Central School yearbook was titled
"Annus Mirabilis" after the John Dryden poem. Perhaps one day DCS students will choose to revert to that most appropriate name.
