If you're still hungry for turkey, the Dryden Seniors citizens will have a Thanksgiving lunch on Monday at the Dryden Fire Hall (map). Seating starts at 11:30am, with food at 12:15pm.

As a Republican, and a member of the Republicans for Environmental Protection (REP), I would like to thank U.S. Rep. Sherwood Boehlert for his vote on the budget bill. Not only did he vote against drilling in our most pristine wilderness, as his history of environmental protection might lead us to expect, but he also protested the cutting of the safety net from our poorest fellow citizens. I am happy to note that he is an honorary board member of the REP.
In military news, Michael Boardman, whose mother lives in Freeville, just completed Navy basic training, and Jason Fiero of Freeville just completed Coast Guard training.
In state news, legislators are contemplating a pay raise, while the Assembly minority leader departs.
