Fire investigators determined a blaze that destroyed an Ithaca police officer's Etna home was arson, state police said Monday....
State fire investigators, with the aid of City of Ithaca fire investigators and the State Police Forensic Identification Unit, conducted an investigation Sunday into the blaze's cause. State police are now conducting a criminal investigation with the assistance of the City of Ithaca Police Department, Tompkins County Sheriff's Department, Tompkins County District Attorney's Office and Ithaca College Public Safety.
