I'd heard rumors, but it seems to be real:
Posted by simon at December 16, 2010 12:05 PM in Ithaca Journal , TC3Tompkins Cortland Community College endured a $2 million cut in state aid from the fall of 2009 to the fall of 2011 budget years. As a result, 30 people no longer work at TC3, according to college President Carl Haynes....
The work force went from the 290s to the 260s, or a 9 percent cut in the school's employment base, he said.
Out of the 30 job cuts, seven occurred through layoffs -- five over the summer and two more in the past couple of weeks, Haynes said.
For now, Haynes believes the "bad news" is out of the way.
