Dryden by the (CO2) numbers Tuesday

Dryden Solutions will be meeting tomorrow, April 12th, at 6:30pm at the Dryden Community Center Cafe to talk about Dryden and climate change. Here's this morning's announcement:

Hello Drydenistas,

If you are not yet actively helping to spread the word about reducing Dryden's energy use ...

HAVE WE GOT A DEAL FOR YOU!

HERE ARE THE NUMBERS:

  • Average amount of CO2 emitted by one Dryden home per year: 20 tons
  • Amount of CO2 the atmosphere can hold over time and still support a habitable planet for humans: 350 parts per million.
  • Amount of CO2 currently in the atmosphere: 390 parts per million
  • Amount of CO2 used per house per year to get us back to 350ppm: 17 tons

We each need to eliminate at least 3 tons of CO2 that we emit through use of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas, electricity made from these.)

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE !!???

(We know the answer to this question and we will share. It has to do with upgrading your home to reduce energy use.)

Please check all that apply:

  • I'm too busy; I don't have time.
  • I can't afford it.
  • I'm overwhelmed; it's too complicated.
  • My wife / husband doesn't believe in climate change.
  • None of my neighbors are doing it.
  • Maybe the planet would be better off without people anyway.
  • Change is too hard.
  • Excuse me, my phone is ringing.
